SCC Week 4 Check In & Week 5 Goals

Why is exercise so hard?  I didn't lift a finger this week, not even the housewife workout.  Even though I showed a loss this week I have a long way to go to reach my long term goals.

This week I am going to explore Weight Watchers because I feel like I'm stuck in a Jenny Craig rut.  I'm also going to exercise at least twice and drink loads of water.

By drinking loads of water I will be cutting back on my Diet Soda caffeine intake but I am not ready to forgo it for an entire week.

I hope everyone has a spectacular week!

Weigh-In Wednesday

Today was weigh in at Jenny Craig and I went expecting bad news.  My unofficial starting weight as of January 1st was 219.5, a 4.5 gain over the holidays.  So I stepped on the scale to find 214.4 which means I lost that holiday gain plus some.  Woo-hoo!

Now I just need to drink water and try out some exercise and I'll be on schedule for the Spring Chick Challenge,

How are you doing?

SCC Week 3 Check In & Week 4 Goals

I'm totally failing this challenge.  First I was so sick then this past week my aunt passed away and I flew home to Ohio for the funeral so dieting hasn't been a priority.

I'm going to give this challenge one more try and really hit it this week.  I'll weigh in on Wednesday and get the damage and go from there.

My goals for week 4:

  • Stay on plan by eating Jenny Craig meals the majority of the time
  • If eating out make mindful food choices and eat healthy
  • Take fish oil and calcium supplements (failed at this week 2 need to take them!)
  • Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day (major fail at this week 2 and I am really going to do it this week)
  • Eat salads with lunch and dinner to help fill me up
  • Dance at least twice to get in the habit of doing it (using my Wii Dance Workout DVD)
  • Visit the other blogs participating in the challenge and offer encouragement
I hope everyone has a good week!

SCC Week 2 Check In & Week 3 Goals

I had a decent week,  I stayed mostly on plan eating my Jenny Craig meals and my scale shows a 3 pound loss from my starting weight 2 weeks ago.  I'll officially weigh in at Jenny on Wednesday and know for sure.

We did eat out last night and went to McAllister's Deli.  If you have a McAllister's and like carrot cake then after the challenge you'll have to try it.  It's to die for.  So I indulged in a piece split by the hubby and may gain 10 pounds because of it!

My goals for the upcoming week are simple:
  • Stay on plan by eating Jenny Craig meals the majority of the time
  • If eating out make mindful food choices and eat healthy
  • Take fish oil and calcium supplements (failed at this week 2 need to take them!)
  • Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day (major fail at this week 2 and I am really going to do it this week)
  • Eat salads with lunch and dinner to help fill me up
  • Dance at least twice to get in the habit of doing it (using my Wii Dance Workout DVD)
  • No sweets-part of the SCC mini-challenge
  • Visit the other blogs participating in the challenge and offer encouragement
I hope everyone has a great week!

It's BYOC (Bring Your Own Crazy)

Straight from Drazil's Blog it's BYOC where we answer 5 questions to get to know each other and give our blogging brains a break.

No theme today – just massively random!

1. Do you have a favorite traditional “birthday meal”? If yes – what is it and what is the meaning behind it?

Our tradition is to go out for your birthday and you pick the restaurant.  I usually pick Red Lobster and get seafood.

2. If you’ve lost weight, has your style changed since you lost weight? Or what's your dream purchase when you do lose weight/hit goal?

I haven't lost enough for my style to change yet but I do plan to buy skinny jeans and wear knee high boots with them when I hit my goal weight.

3. Pick one question of the following two to answer: Who is your favorite Muppet and why? Or who is your favorite Smurf and why?
I'm going to steal Drazil's answers:

Screw it – I’m answering both. What’s the smurf’s name that eats all the time and never ever gets fat? He’s constantly baking and making those cute cupcakes and never once does he so much as gain an ounce. That’s MY smurf.

And of course I love Miss Piggy for believing that she is the most beautiful, wanted sex symbol on this Earth and for never giving up on trying to land Kermit BUT I also really love the little shrimp that never talks and Mr. Beaker. Or wait – is Mr. Beaker the name of the shrimp? I can’t remember.

4. When you buy a lotion or after bath spray or body spray or candle (not perfume) – what’s the “flavor” you always find yourself loving the most?

I'm drawn to berry smells like mulberry.

5. Repeat question. Summarize your week in real life and in blogland.

Real life has been status quo.  I'm still getting better from my massive cold and have the cough from hell but feeling better.

Blogland has been fine.  I've picked up a couple of new followers (waving hello) so that's exciting.

SCC Week 1 Check In & Week 2 Goals

Since I've been horribly sick this week and didn't accomplish my goals, I am going to stick with them and kick start this diet this week.  I'm going to Jenny Craig on Monday morning (instead of Wednesday) so I can start fresh and hit the ground running.  I will add person goals next week but for now my goals are weight loss related.

My Goals:

  • To stay on plan with Jenny Craig 21 meals as a kick start to the challenge
  • To drink at least 64 oz of water (Crystal Lite) a day
  • To take a calcium and fish oil supplement twice a day every day
  • To exercise using my Wii dance game at least 1 time to gauge how it will effect me (Fibromyalgia)
  • To try and eat some meals using my non-dominate hand (the SCC mini-challenge)
Have a good week y'all!

It's BYOC-Saturday Edition

From the lovely Drazil's Blog it's Bring Your Own Crazy where we answer 5 questions about ourselves to give our blogging brains a break.

Let’s do a holiday/new year themed BYOC today!

1. How do you feel about NY resolutions? Do you make them? Do you forget about them quickly? Do they help you?

I don't always make them but I did this year.  My resolution is to lose 50 pounds in 2012 and I am committed to doing it.

2. Did you put up a Christmas tree? How many? Is it still up?

Yes just one.  I don't do a theme because I have so many ornaments of the kids'.  White lights and gold bows with a large gold bow as a tree topper.  We took it down the other day.

3. How many total Christmases did you choose to have to attend outside of your home?

Two outside the home-my in-laws and my family.

4. What are you most looking forward to this year?

Losing the 50 horrible pounds that I have committed to!  I can't wait to be slim.

5. Repeat question: Summarize your week in real life and in blogland this week.

Real life has sucked because I'm sick as a dog.  Mini me has pneumonia and college boy has bronchitis.

Blog land has been fine.  I've been reading a lot more than blogging because I'm sick.  Being in the Spring Chick Challenge will give me an excuse to blog more often once I'm on my feet again.
